Part of the Bio Oil Group, Eco Fuels Netherlands produces high-quality biodiesel from 100% Used Cooking Oil (UCO), offering a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to fossil fuels. Our plant, located in Eemshaven, plays a key role in turning waste into valuable resources, helping reduce CO2 emissions by over 80% compared to conventional fuels.
Eco Fuels Netherlands has its roots in Bio Oil, which was founded in 2006 in Slovakia. Initially focused on sourcing UCO for biodiesel production, Bio Oil has since expanded its operations across Europe, establishing a strong presence in Austria, Germany, Belgium, and beyond. In 2012, Bio Oil acquired the Eemshaven plant, which was initially designed for rapeseed oil production. After an extensive redesign to accommodate waste-based feedstocks like UCO, the plant was successfully restarted in 2013 under the name Eco Fuels Netherlands.
At Eco Fuels Netherlands, we turn waste into energy. Our plant produces up to 160,000 tons of biodiesel annually, mainly for blending with fossil fuels in the Netherlands, UK, and Germany. We also produce glycerin and fertilizers as by-products. The plant’s strategic location in Eemshaven, with direct access to the harbor, ensures efficient logistics and delivery by both sea and land.
We are committed to sustainability, reducing carbon footprints, and contributing to a circular economy. By using UCO and other waste materials, we produce fuels that are not in competition with food resources and do not require additional farmland conversion. Our processes and feedstocks guarantee over 80% CO2 savings compared to traditional fossil fuels.
